DAY 7

Last month I graduated from University State of California. I got my master in art. The tsunami hit and I had to go to the top of the building, along with my best friend who accompanied me on the trip, his name is Rufus and he’s a two month old beagle. I was writing in my journal when the tsunami hit and Rufus was chewing on the hotel bed sheet. All of the sudden the hotel manager comes knocking on the doors of the hotel suite saying, “Get to the top of the roof!” Not knowing what the heck was happening I went outside and saw people running from their suites trying to get their belongings and scurry to the top of the thirty story roof. I asked the first person I saw what was happening and he said, “A tsunami is about to hit the hotel; everyone is going to the top of the roof.” I immediately grabbed Rufus and ran to the nearest elevator. Just as I was about to get I the elevator the manager came and said, “Don’t take the elevator, it’s too dangerous you have to take the stairs!” I grabbed Rufus and ran to the door of the stairs. Their was already a huge crowd gathered at the door trying to get upstairs. I tried to push through to get upstairs as fast as I could. When me and Rufus finally made it up through the crowd of people and to the top of the roof we saw a huge wave coming toward the hotel. The manager told everyone to grab a hold of something for support. And then the tsunami hit, almost the entire hotel was flooded making it impossible to get down from the top of the building. We were fine but we can’t say it was the same for the people who were still in the building. It has been a week since the tsunami hit and a helicopter is finally coming to get everyone who has survived in twenty minutes. I can truthfully say that I am not going to visit Hawaii for a long, long time.
